2nd Grade Newcomer
I am a Junior at Georgia Southern University in the Early Childhood Education Program. Last semester during my ppb I was placed in Mrs. Wynn Pollock's third grade class at Screven County Elementary. This semester I am fortunate enough to be going back to Screven County Elementary where I will be observing Miss Candy Sheppard's second grade class.

Hey Shannon! How lucky are you to have been able to get the same school twice! I have third last semester too when I did my PPB. I loved it! I haven't had the experience to be in a second grade, soon I hope! I love the younger grades. I am currently in a fifth grade, and it's fun just not as hands-on as say third and second. ReplyDeleteThat is a very cute picture of you! I have been placed in a 3rd grade classroom this year and I love it. I was a little nervous at first but I enjoy every minute of it. Maybe we can share thoughts and ideas about thrid grade. I have worked with second grade several times and I do have to say that it's exciting as well. The students are at the age where they can do things on their own but they still need some guidance and support from their teacher. I hope you enjoy your second grade classroom this year!
I am in a third grade class right now and I love it! During my ppb I was put in a 1st grade class and I think I have come to the conclusion that I like third grade the best out of the two. I'm sure you felt a little relief when you were put back at Screven County since you already knew your way around and some of the faculty. I was put at Mill Creek Elementary last semester and this semester I have been placed at Stilson Elementary so I had to get comfortable with new surroundings but it wasn't bad.
ReplyDeleteHey Shannon, I love your picture. That's crazy that you got to go back to Screven County for this semester also. Did you request that or did it just happen? I had fifth grade for ppb but this semester I have third grade, and I am loving it so far. Good luck with your second grade class!

Second grade is definately where my heart is! I am in a third grade class this semester and like it a lot too! Enjoy second grade, its wonderful! Good luck this semester!
ReplyDeleteHey Shannon! That's crazy that you have been at the same school both for PPB and Curriculum. I bet you were excited to find out that you were going back again this semester. I know what its like to fall in love with a school and then have to go to another one. If I could I would go back to Nevil's again where I did my PPB. I agree with you about third graders, their awesome and I ususally like the younger ones but the reason I like third grade is because its a little more of a chanllenge and I think challenges are always good. Good luck with everything this semester and I'll see you in class. Bye girl!
